Most delays in a wholesale enquiry come from requirements that were never written down. A supplier cannot quote accurately against a verbal description of “some gold”, and a buyer cannot compare quotations prepared on different assumptions.
Four details worth stating at the outset
- The format you need: bar, grain or another divisible unit.
- The quantity, and whether it is fixed or indicative.
- The fineness or specification your business must work to.
- The documentation you require with the goods.
Stating these clearly, even approximately, allows a supplier to respond with something relevant rather than a general brochure. It also makes quotations comparable, because each is prepared against the same stated requirements.
What a quotation should tell you
A useful quotation is specific about what is being offered, on what basis, and what remains to be confirmed. Where a detail cannot yet be fixed — a refiner for a consignment, for example — that should be visible rather than implied.
Tell us your requirements and we will discuss product options, quantities and a quotation.
